"Never answer the phone!!!!"

I received a letter from NHS to book for a smear test. For more than two weeks, I have been on the phone for over an hour each time trying to get through to the surgery. I have tried on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at different times of the day to no avail. No one bothers to pick up the phone.

So frustrating because not everyone can drive down to the surgery during their opening times. They were never like this but since May, it's been a nightmare getting through to anyone much less getting an appointment! Sort this out, MHC. Could there be a problem with your phone lines?

Dear Patient

I am sorry to hear that you have had such difficulty getting through to us.

I can assure you we are answering the phone all day long and have staff dedicated to doing this.

We are currently looking at our phone systems and patients can expect to see an update on this later in the year on our practice website.

However, if you would like to contact me directly and let me know the number you have been calling us from, I will be happy to check the system to see if there has been a particular issue.
