"Great hospital but wheelchair access is a problem"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology

My elderly mother visits the the cardiologist and dietician regularly and we are very pleased with the staff and the care she receives, however, getting from the car park to the hospital is always a problem. The wheelchair ramp from the car park is always blocked by a car parked in the bay in front of it. This means we have to do a detour to leave at the vehicle exit gate instead. The hatching on this bay is very faint so not sure whether people just don't care or if they're actually not aware that this is not a parking bay. Perhaps repainting this bay would help?

Thank you for your positive comments about the hospital, but I’m really sorry to read about the problems you are having in the car park. I will personally review this as soon as possible and we’ll get this sorted out.

Many thanks for for letting us know where we need to make improvements

Best wishes

ian

I've now had a chance to review the car park but I cannot immediately see which area you are referring to.

Can you e-mail me on ianmackenzie@nhs.net so that I can make sure that I am understanding your concerns fully

Many thanks

Ian
