"My time in ward 44"

About: Victoria Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I had a very horrible admission to hospital. I was stuck in a few different horrible situations on top of being in hospital with health problems. First time in my life I have actually stayed willingly due to the way my mental health is and they made it a wonderful experience for me. Always explained everything- kept me at ease about everything- even helping with advice on childcare and plans for my children whilst I was in.

There is so many things the staff also do that isn't in their jobs but just do it to be nice, kind and helpful. The advice I got whilst in there was great and always there if you need to talk if they can. I'm honestly amazed at the way they manage to run the ward.   They are all happy helping friendly staff. Made my daughter feel so at home when she visited me for the day. I had a couple seriously bad - painful- emotional nights and all in all I can say if it wasn't for the staff I couldn't of got through it. I'm forever thankful and certainly won't be so nervous having to spend time in hospital again.
