"I put my rapid recovery down to the excellent staff"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

Hi,

I was taken to A & E at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in the early hours of the morning where I was diagnosed as having multiple pulmonary embolisms (blood clots🤯) to both lungs. As a nurse, I knew exactly what the possible outcome could be but the staff at A & E, ward 101, x-ray gentleman, porters, and radiographers at CT all were very kind and patient with me. On top of that the food was great (or maybe was cos I had the chance to relax and eat!).

Anyway, I’m now better, clots vanished in 18 days... amazed my consultant! I put my rapid recovery down to the excellent staff from the paramedics (Ellon based), to the domestic who kept refilling my water jug.... all so kind and patient!

Hi Crazy Nurse,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback via CareOpinion. I am really happy to read that the clots have disappeared. That must have been really worrying for you.

I am also really glad to read that you were treated so well by our staff and the staff from the hospital. If you like I could arrange to have this passed on to the crew and their manager. If you would like me to do this can you email me at scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and provide me with your name, the address the ambulance attended along with the date and time. That way I can pinpoint the crew and make it happen.

I hope you are on the road to a full recovery and are back at work soon too!

Kind Regards

Alan
