I was trying to track down an old work pal’s whereabouts as he was not answering his house phone, has a lot of disabilities, and so I feared the worst. Called nearest hospital to him, Ealing, then found out after a lot of questions due to data protection, that he had a stroke, Then found out he was transferred to Northwick Hosp. I should add I live in Surrey and having treatment myself so cant drive etc). Anyway I have found that ringing any number you are just left hanging for ages, or cut off. When I do speak to member of staff they seem like they can't be bothered to tell me how said gentleman is doing, if I can speak with him, NO, will he be staying at hospital for much longer, DONT KNOW, then I’m told he has been changed to another ward.. and had to ask spelling several times as nurse had very thick accent... one nurse eventually said she will try and get a call through to him.. he has no mobile, he has no family.., but that never happened. Have sent a card and can only hope he gets it. Are there no phones that can be taken to him? I just feel so sad that he is all alone and being left depressed I’m sure.
