"Wisdom tooth removal that went wrong"

About: Southampton NHS Treatment Centre

I attended the Dental clinic yesterday to have a wisdom tooth removed. I am 82 years of age and that tooth has had several very large fillings in the past, not to mention the temporary one which was filling the latest hole.

During the procedure the tooth unsurprisingly broke, an attempt to get purchase on part of the remaining tooth resulted in another break. At this point the dentist took his drill and made a further purchase point, and using this he cajoled the remains loose and out. Throughout this he acted promptly and extremely confidently. At no time did I feel any pain or discomfort and furthermore I gained the impression that the young man was in complete control of everything that could possibly happen.

I left the hospital grateful and extremely impressed
