This is my Son's story about the care he is receiving at ENT University Hospital Crosshouse.
I took my 9 year old Son to my GP in late 2017 with a large lump in the front of his neck.
After a course of Antibiotics the lump had not disappeared, so he was referred to ENT as Doctor was unsure as to what it was.
We are now in June 2018 and still without a concrete diagnosis. Consultants believe it is one of two types of benign cyst, but as of today, we are still waiting on results of an MRI Scan.
A blood test was only taken in May. Which, to me, is unacceptable, as it is a child's health that is being dealt with.
Communication from the department is poor. We have never been informed of test results and had to put on appointments at GP's surgery to find out, which is very wasteful of resources.
All in all, I believe my Son has been let down by his care. As you can imagine this has been an anxious time waiting on a diagnosis.
"An anxious time waiting on a diagnosis."
