I arrived at Dunfermline Queen Margaret Hospital at 07:40 for a hernia operation in the Day Surgery Unit and was placed in the care of nurse Jackie. She was efficient, kind and quickly got me ready for the operation. The surgeon and his assistants also spoke with me and reassured me all would go well. Please thank them all. Because of complications with passing urine my release from hospital was delayed and after Jackie completed her shift I was passed to nurse Fiona. Rather then book me in for the night she reassured me that given time a solution would be found. She inserted a catheter to remove fluid from the bladder. She did this because she new I was nervous and desperate to return home. I was able to leave hospital at approximately 10:45 p.m. Please thank Jackie and Fiona ( and all staff involved ) for their kind efforts on my behalf. Jackie and Fiona are Jewels in the NHS and made the experience a pleasant one. Again please thank them and all other staff involved.
N.B. Fiona has a good sense of humour
