On saturday 12th June I went to Erith urgent care the Dr there examined me said I need hospital care and sent me with a letter marked urgent to A&E .at DVH I was soon seen by nurse had blood and urine test and temperature taken. I knew I was ill so expected to be seen by Dr in a reasonable time but I remained in A&E for over Six hours when I was finally seen by a lovely Dr was diagnosed put on an IV drip given IV pain relief and anti sickness injection seen by another Nice Dr and admitted to Acer ward ..I was in hospital for five nights and was discharged on sixth day the whole time I received excellent care by all the staff and every nuse on Acer so nice kind and caring I can't fault my care and the food was much better than I had expected. My only complaint is the time
I was waiting in A&E I fully understand how busy it is how much pressure staff are under .the staff do a fantastic job but could there not be a way of prioritizing those needing treatment ?
I wonder if those people who clearly shouldn't be at A&E are ever told off and explained how it deprives ill or injured patients who actually need urgent care. I'm sorry to have this one negative I'm greatful we have such wonderful NHS and dedicated hardworking staff doing a marvelous job.
