"amazingly well looked after"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I would just like to say how amazingly well we were looked after during the recent birth of our son. Cora, Margaret and Amy were tremendous on labour ward.

When it was decided we were going for C Section, they explained everything to us and made sure we were fully informed. Cora especially was excellent. Her wit and banter kept me at ease and when her shift ended just before we went to theatre she really wanted to stay on to see it through. She came to visit us when she was back on the following night and was so pleased to meet our baby boy. The midwives on Ward 17 were also fantastic. Kelly and Rachel couldn't have been more helpful post op... however all of the midwives were excellent and I could not fault anyone during the 3 nights we were in hospital. Although the birth was not straightforward I can honestly say it was made so much more bearable due to the team involved.

Thanks must also go to Dr Darlow and Dr Conlon who were just amazing.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. Thank you for the feedback I appreciate how busy life will be for you just now. I shall share this with the staff ensuring that those you have mentioned personally receive it. Having a baby can be an anxious time especially when things are not straightforward and I am delighted you felt fully informed of what was happening.
