"My Child's referral to CAHMS Irvine"

About: Ayrshire & Arran Community Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

(as a service user),

My child was referred to CAHMS by the school due to their behaviour. This is the second time. It took several months to be seen by a nurse at CAHMS. I waited and waited to hear back from them. Nearly six months. To be told the school received a letter of discharge in April. I am the parent where was my letter. There are faults here by the hospital and the school. When I contacted CAHMS I was told someone would phone me. Yup still waiting. I am a health care professional and this communication or lack of is exceptionally poor. To top it all my child will need referral now. It won't be happening because this appears to be a service in chaos.
