I have written all this once and pressed 'send' only to get a response saying 'you don't have permission to leave a review' so I have no idea if mine were received or not? Will try again. I was admitted to A&E via 111 service around 9-10pm on a Tuesday - the dept. was busy but I was triaged fairly soon and sent to a room with other people and put on a drip. The Nurses were clearly dedicated and nice people.
I slept the night on a chair (there was a stool close by which I wished I had asked to use, or advised to, as the condition I was diagnosed with - Cellulitis, benefits from raising any limb affected (I didn't know this at the time nor advised.)
I saw a doctor around 6-7am and allowed home with cannula in arm subject to attending Hospital daily for min of 10 days. I was told I would be called with an appointment time. I went home but no call came, nor the next day so thereafter I risked turning up at the Hospital without an appointment and unaware where I was meant to go.
I was directed to AMU who were expecting me and who pointed out I had missed the day before.
I explained I was told 'to expect a call with a time to come in and where to go', but the response I got was just 'No we don't call you'.
All in all the treatment was good /right for the condition and the staff more than capable but there is difference in advice given between departments as explained which left me a little lost for a time as said.
Thank you to all those in A&E and AMU who helped me. Christine
