"not at all pleasant nor a good representation of..."

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

my father and brothers; aged: 6 and 10, had just been in an accident. i travelled with my father to the hospital. i was very distressed as was my father and i spoke to the receptionist who was very nice and caring towards me and about the situation.

What could be improved

however, when i went over to the doctor with my dad, having waited 3 hours - the doctor was very rude towards my father when he asked a question and seemed quite unwilling to help. she told him that he was not as important as other patients as he was still able to walk and was still conscious. she merely helped him at all and i was appalled at her standard of service.

Also earlier, when the paramedics - who were very kind, caring and understanding - took away my brothers, my father had to follow in his car with myself and my sister. the paramedics had told us that he could go to the children's a & e and be seen there by the doctor. when my father arrived, the lady at the receptionist refused to let him be seen by the doctor even though the paramedics had said so.

Anything else?

when you are in a situation such as a car accident, you want to be greeted with a smile, be told that everything will be all right and that there is nothing to worry about - instead you get rude and egotistical members of staff just to top it off. its not as if we enjoy being in situations like this & we certainly don't enjoy being ill and them being put though all this torment!
