"My mum's admission to Cavendish unit"

About: Leigh Infirmary Mh Oupatients Clinic / Women's Mental Health Unit

(as a relative),

What happened? Well where do i start?

Mum went in there walking and came out in a wheel chair. She has now got drug induced Parkinsonism due to the drugs. She's got a DVT, bed sores, had 2 strokes and MRSA.

You don't expect to go in hospital and come out disabled. And she has a catheter in as well.

Dear jb00,

I am very sorry to hear that your mother is so unwell at the moment and that you were unhappy with the care she received on the Women’s Mental Health Unit (Now called Cavendish Ward).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss your mum’s care and attempt to resolve any on-going concerns you may have. I would be happy to meet with you at a time and place of your choosing.

You can also contact our PALS service who would be happy to support you in meeting with me.

Cheryl Forrest, Matron Adult Services, telephone 01942 264622.
