"Repeat prescriptions for a chronic condition"

I phoned my GP surgery for 3 months' worth of repeat prescriptions for 4 drugs I need to take. When I turned up to collect the prescription there was a single prescription waiting for me, for just 1 month, for just 1 drug.

I've had difficulties with this surgery before. They've misprescribed the quantities and denied it was their fault until I obtained a copy of the letter from my consultant to the Practice advising them of the correct amount.

My previous GP surgery also misprescribed the drugs - one of them somewhat dangerous - and I had to go to the Health Ombudsman to elicit an apology.

I don't understand why the process of issuing a simple repeat prescription isn't far smoother than this.
