I came to urgent care on the 27th May with a serious infection in / on my nose and as I'd had it before (stayed at the Royal Free in London for a week last year) I was quite upset at the thought of being admitted again.
The triage nurse that saw me was fantastic and went out of her way to speak to the ENT doctors on call so they could see me directly rather than having to go through the ED doctors.
The nurses that then took my blood / put a cannula in (which is always a nightmare as my veins don't play ball!) were amazing and made me laugh so much despite being in a lot of pain.
What a credit to you they are.
The ENT doctors who saw me straight after were thorough, kind & explained everything to me in detail about why I needed to be admitted again.
The ENT doctors that looked after me on Cedar ward were also brilliant.
Thanks so much for treating me so well and sorting the problem out.
My only gripe would be the nurses forcing antibiotics through my cannula when the vein had clearly gone as it was so painful it brought tears to my eyes.
To be honest I've found this a problem in any hospital I've stayed in though and know now to just say no, get someone to fit a new cannula!
My vein still hasn't recovered from this.
