I have glaucoma, I also had to have a cataract operation which was paid for privately. I visit Southend Eye Hospital every 6 months to check on my eyes because of the glaucoma, I had mentioned to them that my sight was blurred and it was causing a disturbance in my vision. Basically I was ignored, I went to visit my optician and was told that a hazy membrane had formed behind the lens on both my eyes [my left eye which has poor sight was the worst] - I was referred back to the eye unit for YAG Capsulotomy on my poor eye and they have refused to do my good eye [basically until it has deteriorated] I have been told to go back to my optician.
My good eye is the one that I have relied on all my life, i also question why didn’t the eye unit refer me for YAG Capsulotomy [as they could already see on one of my visits that it had formed in both my eyes]. Both disappointed and dismayed at the poor service being given.
"Questioning the service that is offered here!"
