I have had a very rewarding and positive experience of Rachael, my community advocate.
I was facing several medical assessments -for benefits PIP + ESA, as well as for specialist NHS treatment. My health condition makes consistent cognition difficult + I become exhausted very easily. My memory is also at times poor.
Having someone to come with me, whilst I discussed very personal matters was crucial. It would have been inappropriate to take a friend or relative in my case.
She has been informed and understanding about my condition, as well as the meetings I have needed to attend. She has also supported me during my recent redundancy + subsequent TUPE + redundancy.
She has been utterly dependably, available + has produced typed notes after every meeting which has been invaluable. She has also listened accurately to my needs + produced very professional letters + emails to various figures of authority. She has enabled me to challenge mistakes + continue to support my family through a difficult time.
"My advocate has been utterly dependably, available."
