"They showed me how badly drugs were ruining my life"

About: One Recovery Bucks / Aylesbury

(as a service user),

After being diagnosed with depression & feeling low I used drugs to take away the low & create a high. This led to dependency on the drug.

Having someone to talk to who understands addiction, understands the people around you who are your 'support network' and is not judgemental has been a massive help.

One question I was asked which really stopped me and I could not answer was 'why do you use'. At that point I really saw how badly drugs were ruining my friendships, finances, self respect etc.

Very confident I will not use again.

Thank you

I am glad to hear you felt heard and that staff were non judgemental, for me that's the key for a therapeutic relationship. Keep accessing all you find useful in our service, remember to access our recovery network support if needed.

All the very best with your recovery moving forward.
