My son was referred to SALT and OT plus Gordon Cottage. All of which I engaged with fully.
My son attended Carnegie nursery and while there his support worker wanted to put him forward for assessment. I started a new job and changed his nursery to Camdean to be closer to my childminder and my work. Unfortunately the assessment was not taken further at this point.
While in primary one my son was referred, by his school, to Dr Niven. This referral was made in March 2017 and I had my first appointment in October 2017, then March 2018. He is now on the Autism Assessment Pathway although I will have to wait up to a year for assessment.
My son has lost his uncle, great aunt and both grandparents in rapid succession plus we will be moving soon. I keep getting told that I will get the help that I need once diagnosis is made, but I cant think of any other time in my little boys life that he needs help more than now.
This has been going on for four years now and I am still no further forward but the process nearly broke me.
