"Ambulance response and service"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

One night in May close to midnight my Father suffered a severe stroke. I called 999  and the person on the line very quickly sussed the seriousness of the situation and on triage diverted an ambulance on another call to our place. The ambulance arrived within 7 minutes of the call. We are given clear and helpful instructions prior to their arrival.

I cannot praise enough the ambulance crew Jackie and David who were calm, caring and professional through the entire episode. They put us at ease with their genuine warmth and caring approach.

My Father continues to make a gradual recovery, but the intervention and care in those initial few hours were critical in the whole process.

I am ever grateful to them and am proud to belong the NHS whose ideals and principles were personified by David and Jackie.

Dear Kosh,

I was very pleased to read about your father’s good experience of the ambulance service and especially that the emergency call handlers picked up the seriousness of his illness so quickly.

I really hope that he is recovering well.

if you want to I can pass your thanks to the crew concerned (they sounded great) but would need more information and if you wish to, please contact me on (0141) 810 6101.

Thank you,

Pat
