"Parkinson's patient left in discharge lounge"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / Accident and emergency

My husband has Parkinson's and speech badly affected and unable to eat and drink by himself. On day of discharge I was told transport was ordered for 17.30, having an appointment in the morning I didn't go in to help go in lunch. I got hospital at 4.30 thinking I would be able to see what information for on going treatment etc.

At the ward I found someone else where he had been and was told he had gone to discharge lounge.

I found him there to be rd he had been sent down there at 1040 in the morning with no one to give him his medication, food - there was a beaker of water but not in reach.

I was told he'd missed his slot because the form said I would not be home till 6pm- which I never had and had been the suggestion of the staff nurse request 17.30.

I am totally appalled disgusted t they could move a by him in the morning knowing full well he needs assistance with medication. People with Parkinson's m must have medications on time. How callous is it to put a vulnerable person where nobody knows what his needs are for 7hours before his transport is due. I wAnt answers and the person responsible made aware of their disgusting behaviour.

It is sad because from the paramedics A &E and CDU staff were impeccable. However Deal ward needs a big shake up. They are very lacking in professionalism.
