Was sent to the minor injuries unit after being sent on a wild goose chase by A&E I was hoping that the immense pain in my foot would be treated. I was in a wheelchair as I am unable to walk on my foot. The nurse who took me into the first initial assessment huffed and puffed over the fact she had to wheel me in. She was then about to assess me when a rather aggressive doctor came in. He took one look at my foot told me to lift it up and concluded that nothing could be done. No xray was giving. He suggested I need to put weight on already painful foot. Refused me crutches saying it would make me lazy and then left me to try and get home.
The pain continued at home to the point I felt sick and dizzy. Been to my GP who then sent me back to the hospital for a Xray no broken bones and therefore no one wanted to know and I was told to go home even though I still can't walk on my foot. Unless you're leg is hanging off you are not entitled to crutches. I am a single mum and this has caused major problems and I am still in agony and unable to walk on it and having to crawl around the house. What a service! Crutches would have been a great help. I have hammer toes, knee problems and back problems but I must walk around in agony and must be drugged up on painkillers. What exactly does the NHS do now? Feel upset in pain and very let down.
