"Change of appointments was not as expected"

About: Hospital Of St Cross (Rugby)

Unfortunately the clinic I need to attend has changed their day, I assume this was for a very valid reason. However the new day (Friday) is almost impossible for me. I did say that when they told me of the change. Sadly because of this i have kept having to cancel/re-book my appointments as my job is quite inflexible and I have a sick/disabled mum to cater for as well as my young child (getting someone to take care of them if I am not around).

Recently I had to change my appointment as my work required that I be in. When I called to rearrange the appointment I was told by appointments lady that, as I have had to keep changing, there was an issue. She DID change it though, but made me feel quite bad/uncomfortable about the whole thing.

She suggested that I use 'annual leave' so I could come to the appointment. i thought this was quite rude, I didn't say anything at the time as I was quite taken back by the suggestion. I did call ahead of the appointment, as soon as I was able. I don't get that much annual leave and prefer to take it with my family. Feeling uncomfortable about going now.

Thank you very much for posting your review on NHS Choices about your experience at the Hospital of St Cross.

I disappointed to hear about the difficulties that the clinic change has caused for you, and also the attitude of the person you spoke to when you needed to rearrange your appointment, and I would like to apologise for your experience.

I unfortunately cannot see from your review which service you have been using, and so I would urge you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 028 4203 or on feedback@uhcw.nhs.uk so that we can look into the concerns you have raised in more detail.

We are grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients. Thank you again for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
