"Going down hill!"

About: Guy's Hospital / Rheumatology

I ve been coming to the Rheumatology dept for 2 1/2 yrs now,

I m disappointed on some of the aspects here.

Reception are not too bad but a little more compassion towards patients and a smile would really brighten a persons day!

The nurses have been usually very good, I personally have only seen my consultant once and I understand this is a top hospital in the country and they are very busy people!

Communication between appointments though, is a different story..

and I personally have waited far too long before I ve had a satisfactory outcome.

The cleanliness is very good.

Rheumatologies own blood test dept I find very impersonal. Never a pleasant experience, which is a shame as it would make a patients time there just that little more tolerable!!

Cafe area in Main entrance is quite expensive and could benefit from more seating and bigger area.

Patient transport.. thats another story too,

On the whole

I understand there too that they deal with thousands of patients through their doors every week and I have every respect for the (Good people, drivers who carry out a very demanding job. Timewise,

I wish the drivers were checked more with pick up times as a knock on the door at 6.25 a m for a 10.00 a m appointment in rheumatology is a bit extreme!! I will let it go this time but if this happens again, I will most certainly be lodging a complaint.

So my purpose of my review, certain aspects are going down the pan, but the not so bad aspects.. would make a patients visit just that bit more fairer.

Having said that, I do applaud the hospital for the many people they can make better.
