My 95 year old mother passed away this morning at 4.30 in the SAU. After 29 hours in Stepping Hill the staff were fantastic. Professional Courteous and Caring. everything that is good about the NHS. Not only was my mother cared for but we as family members in probably the most emotional and difficult of circumstances could not have been cared for more appropriately. even in the final moments having the staff with us was such a comfort.
Even a change in the shift (13 hours) the caring did not miss a beat.
Thank you all so much to all the staff members. Even the Sister lent us her iPhone Plug (sorry forgot name).
Whilst we are very sad at this moment this is literally the first thing we have done before sleeping. Well done all.
