My daughter finally had a follow up appointment in rheumatology, after waiting from November 2017 and having had one appointment (February 2018) cancelled, with no reason given and no mention of another appointment. It took my ringing the secretary and explaining the situation for her to receive another one for May 2018.
The doctor was lovely to begin with and then she began to tell her that all her results were "In black" so they were alright. Her X-Ray results showed "wear and tear"… then went on to ask about her state of mind! The appointment went from one about her joint and pain problems, to telling her that she needed to get a life, being told to go "get out of the house and away from your mother; volunteer with animals"( She is my carer, and we told her that, so how does she do that then?) When told that she has severe allergies to animals, the reply was "It isn't normal for a 31 year old to do everything with their mother" My daughter ended the appointment in tears, with no answers to her problems and no solutions other than feeling like she had mental health problems and that her pain was all in her head!
Will she visit St Lukes again? Not on your life!
"Dismissed"
