"Treatment to remove a cyst"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns (wards 45, 47, 48 & 49)

(as the patient),

I have had an unsightly cyst on my face for several years.  Recently it had been giving me some bother and I sought advice from my GP about the possibility of having it removed.  I was referred to Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and within days received an appointment to attend the Unit just a few weeks later.

I was a bit worried about the procedure but was immediately put at ease by the professional team of practitioners who were dealing with me that day.  The cyst was removed by Sr. McLeod who was clearly an expert in her field.  The whole team involved was totally efficient and capable and I was at all times impressed by how they performed. The local anaesthetic was administered with no pain whatsoever and the excision and stitching was completed quickly and efficiently.

I cannot praise Sister McLeod and her team enough.  I have used the private health sector in the past and can say that I have never been treated more professionally and competently that I was at the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow.  This team represent the NHS at its best and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been treated by them.
