"Frustrated at not being able to continue treatment"

About: Crosshouse Hospital University Hospital Ayr

(as the patient),

I was waiting for an appointment at the M.S.K. unit at Crosshouse Hospital for trigger finger on my right hand which was making my work very difficult due to being a cleaner. After quite a couple of months I contacted the hospital and was informed there was no appointments available yet but she would check cancellations.

I received an app with Gillian in March {from ayr hospital} and received 1 injection with a follow up for another 2 injections at Ayr Hospital on two weeks later. Having no transport myself I managed to get a lift.

I also had another 2 appointments which I had to cancel due to not having transport or the funds to get 3 buses down to Ayr and the same back. I also asked about getting referred back to Kilmarnock M.S.K. Unit but never got any advice or help with that.

I still need to attend the unit but do not know how to go about that also trying to go through the G.P. surgery again is impossible.

Is there anywhere I can get some advice on how to go about this?

Dear jessmc3

I am really sorry that you have had difficulties in contacting Dr Hodkinson regarding your concerns.

If you would like to contact Ms Tracy Scott on telephone 01292 617126 or email: tracy.scott@aapct.scot.nhs.uk she will take your details and will ensure that someone from the MSK team contacts you to discuss your care.

Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for the distress this has caused you.

Kind regards

John

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear ..

I was asked to post this response on behalf of Alison.

We are pleased that we have managed to offer you a suitable appointment at University Hospital Crosshouse to complete your treatment & you are happy with this. In future we will be more mindful of patient needs with regards to staff that are having clinics at different locations.

Thanks
