"Birthing Experience- Fantastic staff!"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Maternity

From week 35 of my pregnancy it became clear I’d need a C Section. I also had high blood pressure which required monitoring. The staff at both the Royal and General were fantastic. Of note were the 2 x specialist blood pressure Midwife’s, who were always on hand to support and offer advice. Thank you.

10 hours of unplanned Labour led to an emergency c section (I was due for an elected section 3 days later). The staff were kind, reassuring and personable throughout, offering calm advice.

During the operation the staff explained the whole procedure and I left theatre understanding how the operation had gone. Recovery and my 2 days on the ward were excellent. The Midwife’s and doctors were attentive whilst enabling me to ‘get on with recovering’ and being a mother. The food was also of a good quality.

I cannot fault the NHS care, support and staff I encountered over 2.5 days in maternity services. They were all excellent! As a result I feel confident moving forward into my further recovery. Thank you Leicester Royal!
