"Phlebotamy...Blood tests are a shambles"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital / Maternity

Arrived a few minutes early to the blood test area. Not clear that they were not open yet. One pleasant receptionist, one not so pleasant and very blunt. Appreciate it must get busy but there was no need for rudeness.

Very long queue of people before opening time already. Not clear who is next in turn.

Perhaps a ticket system and signage would be more helpful and therefore reduce the need for the receptionist to speak to people before opening time! Not everyone comes regularly for blood trsts so dont know the system.

Not enough staff!

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear about the wait for a blood test. We know that our pathology team is working hard to reduce waiting times - including by recruiting and training more phlebotomists, introducing a more intelligent ticketing system and working with our local commissioning group to help manage demand more effectively. As we do with all the feedback we receive, we will make sure yours is passed on to the team.
