I first met Beth (my diabetic specialist) when I went to my doctors for my diabetic check. They had asked her to come as my bloods were high and they wanted her to see me to see if she would help bring them down. My first impression was here is someone who cares about her job and patients. She was open and friendly and very easy to talk to. I have only been diagnosed for 2 years and its been extremely stressful. I was unfortunate to have been given poor advice when I first diagnosed by a diabetic consultant! he was abrupt and rude and I found the entire experience very traumatic. Beth has been my saviour. She gave me some excellent advice. She told me to raise my medicine at night time as my bloods were always high in a morning. I was averaging 14 to 15 every morning. Now my bloods are always under 10 which has made a significant difference in my lifestyle. She turned my life around. Seriously. If it hadn't been for her I would still be struggling and most likely ill.. I can't thank her enough.
