About: Western Eye Hospital

What I liked

A&E was a bit like an episode of 'Nurse Jackie ' and environment was a bit like that too. Modern but lived in! The staff were amazingly polite and efficient and I was very impressed with the way they dealt with patients most of whom were rude and surly. I was seen within ten minutes of arriving, assessed and given drops to dilate pupils and sent to waiting room for them to work. A few moments later a doctor called me in. He paid huge attention to reassuring me,explaining procedures, making sure I was comfortable. I then had a very thorough examination and then a detailed explanation of my diagnosis. The hospital is brilliant for three big reasons...it is a 24 hour walk-in clinic with excellent professional care.......and it is free!

What could be improved

I guess it could do with a lick of paint?

Anything else?

Might be worth having a 'holding' area as you come into the treatment room in A&E? Several 'uninvited' patients just walked in through the double doors and demanded to be seen. This meant the nurse assessing me was constantly interrupted making it difficult to do her job efficiently.
