"Feeling abandoned by the Crisis Team"

About: Borders Community Services / Borders Crisis Team

(as a service user),

After I lost my father recently I had a breakdown and needed help which is when I was put in touch with the Borders Crisis Team.

I told them about my father's passing away, they seemed to think that was the cause of me feeling the way I did but that was just a trigger that set off mental health issues from which I have suffered for a few years.

The Crisis team felt it would help if I saw a psychiatrist, I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and that was that. There was no follow up, no support, no explanation about what it meant.

I believe the Borders Crisis team did try and contact me but as I was not contactable at the time they did not try again. I feel abandoned and very disappointed in the service. I feel I still need help from the crisis team.
