am Writing this review as something serious needs to be done with in particular the staff attitudes to patients. My mother was scared and left alone for hours. When she did ask she was made to feel like everything was an effort. She had been in hospital over 3 weeks and had been on the fabulous rehab ward but is not mobile, however she was left alone in the toilet and the nurse closed the door, the whole dreadful experience was on ward 22 only. When I arrived the day she was moved to 22 she was practically in tears. The bed sides had been left down all night and she was terrified of falling out. She begged me to get her out of there. It is not dramatic to say 2 weeks later she is still traumatised about her time there and despite being ill today I can’t get her to come into hospital for fear she will end up on this ward.
Would like to say ward 2 exceptionally good, ward 3 had the best atmosphere and caring staff despite some challenging patients and the ward 14 was also very good. Sad that ward 22 is so appalling. I tried to call them tonight to get the chemo bleep nurses advice, the calls were not answered even after 25 mins. This was about 8pm. Not great had to call 111!
"Horrendous experience for my 85 year old mother"
