"Treatment after a fall"

About: Cornwall and Isles of Scilly PCT Derriford Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

In the last year - experiences have been at St Germans Quay Lane Surgery - Liskeard Outpatients and Physiotherapy Depts and Derriford Hospital for an MRI scan - comments as follows.

Quay Lane Surgery

I really believe this surgery is as always, really first class. All 3 doctors and all the staff couldn't be more helpful - and this covers 64 years experience!

Liskeard Hospital Outpatients

Having fallen - concussion was suspected by carer - I was attended to immediately and then transferred to Derriford for more detailed examination at Casualty, again A1 attention. Physiotherapy treatment excellent.

Derriford Hospital three weeks ago for MRI scan

Staff couldn't have been more helpful. I'm on crutches and very slow, but no one minded.

Comments on two visits to Derriford for 2 knee joint replacements - nursing I would estimate about 90% mainly because the staff didn't always accept your problems over 'restless leg syndrome' etc in my case and with other patients too - and this refers to senior staff.

Cleanliness - I felt actual ward cleanliness left quite a lot to be improved - I found that older cleaners were more thorough. Was astonished that the doctors, consultants etc and a few of the nurses I saw did not follow the hand spray cleaning etc.
