on May 16 , I rushed my wife to Dorchester A & E at 17.45 with severe abdominal pain. We were immediately seen by a triage nurse, who then got my wife into a cubicle. She was promptly seen by nurses and doctors who tried to make her as comfortable as possible. Following pain relief , she was quickly sent for a scan, where a perforated stomach was diagnosed. We were then seen by a surgeon and the anaesthetist who were going to perform an emergency operation. We were kept well informed of what was going to happen next.
Following a Four hour operation, (which was completed at 3.00 am), my wife was moved onto the intensive care unit, following a short stay on this unit, my wife was then moved onto Lulworth ward to complete her recovery until she was ready to be discharged, all in all a stay of around 7 days.
What can we say ? What brilliant brilliant service we received, from start to finish everyone that we saw or were involved were absolutely fantastic, helpful and professional.
We would like to thank everyone for saving my wife’s life that evening, without the good old NHS, she would not be sat by my side now.
Thankyou
