My Husband's Mother Was Taken To Western Hospital By Ambulance Even Though She Asked To Go To Taunton. The Ambulance Staff Were Rather Rude To Her! We Went To See Her Yesterday On Her Ward On Harptree East And The Difference In Her Was Shocking! She Was Sat On The Edge Of Her Bed Falling Asleep And Abit Dazed And Confused And She Hadn't Been Bathed Or Washed And Was In Dirty Nightwear! She Is Only 68yrs Old And Has All Her Marbles And Does Not Forget A Thing At Home But She Was Treated Like She Was In Her Late 80's And With No Respect, Dignity Or Understanding! I Was Gob Smacked By The Way The Ward Is Run, All Staff Look So Care Free Like There Running A Corner Shop! She Has Very Bad Breathing Problems And Has Liquid Drained From Her Heart A Week Before In Bristol Hospital And Now Has Liquid There Again With Chest Infection Etc.. And When I Had To Ask A Nurse To Wash Her And Change Her Bed She Gave My Mother In Law A Bowl Of Soapy Water And Let Her Try And Clean Herself! With Wires Everywhere And Could Hear Her Struggle To Breath From The Nurse's Desk! Which Also Had A NHS Poster Pinned To It With The Word 'Internet' Spelt Wrong! When My Sister In Law Rang This Morning To Ask How She Was They Just Passed The Phone To Her Mother To Explain What Was Going On! I've Never Been So Shocked At The Care In A Hospital Before, Absolutely Disgusted In It! Places Like This Give The NHS A Bad Name! They Have Plenty Of Bad Reviews Of This Hospital And Its Well Known In The Local Area's That No One Wants To Go There No Matter How Bad There Health Situation Is!
