"Looked after my elderly mother"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My 85 year old mother had a fall and broke her heel.

After being seen in A & E she was lucky enough to be admitted to the ASU Orthopaedics ward where they cared for her for nearly two weeks with great professionalism, but I was most impressed with how kind they were.

She was treated with compassion and for a while she was very confused, but they looked after her brilliantly and I could not fault her care.

Thank you for sharing your mother’s experience with us and I hope that the injury to her heel is getting better.

I am sorry that your mother had to remain at the North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) for nearly two weeks; however it is good to know that she was cared for with kindness, compassion and professionalism.

I have forwarded on your kind comments to the Ward Manager of the ASU Orthopaedics ward where they will be warmly appreciated and shared with staff.

Kind regards

Jayne
