"No diagnosis"

About: Hammersmith Hospital / Accident and emergency

Dear Doctors

Please do not make a diagnosis unless you are willing to follow through with blood tests, scans etc. If you don't know - that's OK.

To give someone a diagnosis and not follow it up is extremely stressful and unkind. You are. Paid 4/5 times the average londoner per hour to do this job, please do it thoroughly.

I was told my condition could be a blood clot in the leg after my leg swelled but told that I should go to charing Cross in 24 hours. 24 hours later Charing Cross did tests for blood clots and thankfully it is negative. Also no mention of this in my hospital notes from the day before. Continuity and being thorough is essential for professionalism. We pay for this service via taxes, the standard of care should be the same as though for those who are private. Please avoid diagnosing without evidence.

4 visits to urgent care in 8 days and still no clearer to knowing what is wrong.
