"A very big thank you"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Medical Oncology

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say a great big thank you for all the care I have received whilst having my treatment at the Oncology suite at Wishaw hospital. Before I had my treatment I had a picture in my head of a place that would be full of sick people and doom and gloom. Also from watching adverts which were on TV, I guess I was apprehensive about everything but knew I just had to do it and get on with it. Boy did I get it wrong!!! The Oncology suite is lovely and bright, very welcoming and a very cheery place. All the patients are lovely, you can have a laugh and no-one feels sorry for themselves.

All the nurses are wonderful and make everyone feel welcome and at ease, calm you down and explain everything that they are doing. All the nurses also have a laugh and a bit of banter with everyone as they get to know you!

So once again "Thank You" to Lorna, Ann and all the day unit staff for your professionalism, care and kindness. You are all a credit to the NHS. All my best wishes to you all. xxx

Dear Ever so grateful

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us on your recent visit to the Oncology suite in University Hospital Wishaw. It is a very daunting thought and worry going for treatment and I can understand why you were so apprehensive. I’m pleased you hear that you felt welcomed and that your experience was so different from what you imagined it would be with even a little laugh and banter to help along the way..

We are always pleased to receive such positive feedback and the staff will be delighted to hear that you felt your visit was made better by their efforts. I will make sure that they receive your comments. The staff work so hard and I’m pleased that they are part of my team.
