I had to go to A&E via ambulance after being referred by 111. The ambulance crew were amazing and so helpful to calm me down and reduce pain. But A&E were just as good, they did everything they could to reduce my pain and let me know what was happening in between. The staff that took me from A&E to the gynaecologist ward were lovely and thoughtful about the journey.
The ward was great, really helpful staff and knowledge about the problems. They were quick to help and know what to do. Although there was no serious problem found they reduced the pain to a manageable level and were talkative and supportive. This was a contrast to my last visit which disappointed me, however I realise that my last visit was a highly unusual circumstance and the staff did not know what to do (I had an unusual reaction to a medication, this was cured by simply stopping the medication however the staff said they did not know anything about it and my vital signs were ok- I went to a walk in clinic the next day which gave me topical steroids and mucous-attaching steroids and confirmed it was the suspected reaction)
This time the problem was dealt with swiftly and the staff were friendly and calm. I could not thank them enough- they were also very good at informing me about what was going on on the ward. I really appreciate the doctor and nurses who were working on the gynaecology ward at night on the 23rd-24th.
Thank you to everyone there!
"Great experience"
