"wadte of time"

About: Hertford County Hospital / Cardiology

Having an awful time with palpitations and fast heart rate. Had several tests and today was my consultation to discuss my symptoms and test results. I was told that the tests have shown periods of an erratic heart rate.

The diagnosis is too much caffeine. I drink 1 cup of coffee a day and sometimes a Diet Coke (not every day and only 1 330ml can).

I’ve left feeling very confused and feel like my symptoms and test results have been ignored. The Doctor couldn’t have been less interested. I’m now scared as I feel I have nowhere to turn to get assistance to alleviate my symptoms.

We're sorry that you feel that the consultation left you feeling disappointed, confused and unsure of what to do next.

We would suggest that you speak with your GP, who will be getting a clinic letter (in to which you will be copied, of course) with the consultant's findings.

Whilst this may take a few days to arrive, you can always discuss with your GP about seeking a second opinion. Alternatively you can ask our PALS team - pals.enh-tr@nhs.net - to intervene on your behalf.
