"Bariatric surgery"

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

Had an appointment 17/05/2018 had a long consultation with a very nice consultant, he was realistic about the length of time it would take in order to get my operation. It could take up to three years, this didn't faze me as I had been informed by my GP that this was a long process and I am prepared to wait; my contribution to this process is to carry on dieting and exercising as I don't see a gastric bypass as a magic cure that will get rid of my weight issues so I can start from scratch with my bad food choices. He went through thoroughly the procedures and the effects which didn't put me off it gave me hope that at some point I'll have the operation and be as healthy as I can in the meantime. So my advice to anyone going for this is to be patient and don't see it as a magic wand that once waved you will become slim, it's going to be a lot of hard work on our parts as it's going to be a lifestyle change that will have to be maintained both physically and mentally but hang in there!
