"Poor Service"

Unfortunately time in this clinic was minimal so no stars.

My daughter in law attended Old Swan Walk In Centre on 22nd May 2018 around 19.50 after falling off a ladder and with a small but deep cut to her leg. The centre was empty and she was taken straight in. The nurse who examined her advised it was deep, probably would need 2 stitches which would need to be carried out at A&E. As she was leaving tog o to A&E, a voice then shouted 'she's the last one you can lock the door now'!

Having then travelled to Whiston A&E, waited a full 5 hours to be treated, only to then be told that it's very rare to stitch on front of the leg, walk in centre would have known that and could have treated her there and then. Apparently numerous other patients were sent from Old Swan that day for treatment that could have been carried out by the Walk In Staff.

Looking at the state the NHS is in and what appears to be a lack of control over walk in centres in general, it isn't rocket science to have a little re-organisation, monitor(if not already) the treated against referred cases of each centre, those under achieving close the centres, move the staff to local hospitals, save on overheads of additional buildings and assist those nurses actually carrying out their duties under extreme pressure, aiming to reduce the current distressing waiting times.
