I attended for a procedure within the Endoscopy Unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Although being a staff nurse myself, I was feeling extremely anxious about this procedure given that I had never experienced it previously. However, thanks to the empathy and professionalism shown towards me by the staff in the department, I was completely reassured prior to and post procedure. In particular, S/N Susan who went through the pre theatre checklist with me and stayed with me during the procedure and S/N Fiona who looked after me once I had had it. Their attitude towards me and the other patients in the department was fantastic, they were all friendly, extremely helpful and the cup of tea and biscuits afterwards were very much appreciated! I know from being a nurse that it's often the bad experiences we hear about rather than the positives in order to rectify any problems efficiently, but I believe it is equally important to give praise where it is most definitely due. Thank you Endoscopy staff for looking after me, you are all a credit, not only to FVRH (where I also work) but to NHS Forth Valley in general. keep up the good work!
