"Very poor"

About: Lancaster Hospital

I have been to this hospital twice and have found the staff to be disorganised.

First visit I was shown to a room and left given no information.

I was not offered a drink and waited 3hours for my operation.

On the second visit I was told I would be on a same sex ward and my partner was unable to stay which I had not been previously informed to make other arrangements to have someone else go with me. Although I was informed I needed someone with me. I was then placed in a small waiting room and my partner was eventually allowed to join me.

Again I was not offered a drink and made to feel a nuisance.

Not the treatment I would expect going private I would have found the environment in an nhs hospital more relaxing.

Don't expect any special treatment as I feel it is a case of how many can we squeeze in and how much money we can make.

On a positive not the consultant was excellent.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The experience you describe is certainly not what we would expect.

I would be most grateful if you would contact me so that we can discuss matters further to your satisfaction; please contact the hospital on the main number of 01524 62345. I do want to assure you that experiences like the one you describe are extremely rare and certainly not what we wish for our patients.

Kindest regards

David R Mills

Executive Director
