Having attended at the Urology Department in November 2017 I was fitted with a catheter due to a enlarged prostate and a water retention problem and scheduled for a TURP operation. The staff were excellent in every way and as a result was fitted with a catheter within 1 week in ward 18 and as a result my life changed greatly for the better. All the staff were very professional and I was given all the information necessary to make my stay as comfortable as possible. In May 2018 I again was admitted to ward 18 after having the TURP operation and again all the staff from the reception through the operation procedure, recovery area and ward 18 made the procedure very stress free and dare I say, pleasant. I was in ward 18 for 3 days and cannot thank all the staff enough for the attention I was given. At one point I fainted whilst leaving the toilet area and the attention and concern I was given could not have been better if I had been the Queen.I cannot put into words the admiration and gratitude I have for all the staff, who all were very busy but still found time to be pleasant and helpful. As one example, when I was discharged I left two items by the bed but one of the staff took the trouble to catch me at the main entrance, knowing I was waiting for my wife. Outstanding. Again thanks you, thank you, thank you to all the staff. for changing my life for the better. God bless you all. Must be one of, if not the best hospital in the country.
"Life changing experience."
