I rarely use my GP. On a yearly basis I need a jab (which I have had for 15 years and which relieves my condition) and to this end attended the surgery having used the app. to book an appointment and advise what I required. I was met by my 'doctor' who advised me that he was not qualified to administer this injection and also asked my permission to have a 'qualified' Dr in attendance, to which I happily agreed. Unfortunately this is where things deteriorated. I was told that 'we cannot have patients coming here and telling us what they want ' (which included a comment about sex change). That I would not be getting my jab even though it is proven that it works for me,. Assumptions were made about my job, this GP was rude, aggressive and unhelpful. I was offered something for my symptoms without the side effects being checked as to if they were suitable for me (they are not). Basically every rule in the GMC Patient Care guidelines was broken. So much for the caring profession - this was a lesson on completely the opposite. This surgery has gone to pot in the last few years, and is not the caring, helpful, sympathetic experience I used to receive. SO SAD. Just remember, it is our tax and NI that pays for this service. If I supplied this kind of service in my job I would no longer be employed.
"Rude & unhelpful"
