"C section - no skin to skin contact"

About: Colchester General Hospital / Maternity

I had my second child at Colchester General via c section. With my first child, who was also delivered via c section, I had skin to skin contact as soon as he was born. The table that they cleaned him on was also in eye site. When my daughter was taken out I saw her for a couple of seconds before she was out of site, cleaned up and given to my partner to take into another room while I was stitched. This really had an impact on me and my first connection with my baby; after knowing what it could be like it really ruined that special initial moments. I hope they take my comments on board for future c section mums.
